Question

Help answer this question below.

I work in a building and our parking lot restricted to visitors/employees only. I saw this man just leave his car there to carpool with someone else. Should I call the towing company or let him leave his car there? (I'm supposed to call but I feel bad)

I suppose it would depend on the urgency of it all. Is the parking lot always full and his car is stopping actual employees from working there? If it is, then hell yes I would call the tow company. If it's mostly empty and not really causing any problems, I would just leave a note.

I would suggest that you leave him a note reminding him that the lot is for employees and currently shopping customers only, and that any other cars will be towed.
In this way you have done (at least partially) what is expected of you by your workplace, and you have put him on notice about what will happen the next time you notice him parking there.

    Good luck!

Well I would first put a very visable note on his car stating that he is not allowed to park there. I'd give him the benifit of the doubt he just totally missed the sign saying so. Tell him your sorry but he will get towed if the car there tomorrow. I would also leave the card or the name of the towing company so it doesn't look like some asshole from your office put it there. If he parks there tomorrow tow his ass.

He may be an employee or a visitor meeting an employee there that had a meeting scheduled off premise. Could be a perfectly valid reason for parking there!
Glad you left a note and did not take action. It's never wise to assume.
And like another poster said - watch out for that karma! ☺

Certainly you can check to see who is allowed to park there. Most garages issue stickers or access cards... If he is a visitor, is there a limit to how long or how often someone can visit? Does he park in a reserved spot or visitors parking? How do you know that he is not an outside consultant who works with a sales person emplyed in the building? There are just too many unknowns to simply tow his car.

I got my car towed and it sucked ass, tow truck drivers are the biggest assholes in the world. I think the note idea is good, either that or move his car down the street. Not sure how you'd do that last bit, but you're a smart girl - I'm sure you could figure something out. Actually, that'd be freaking HILARIOUS. DO IT!
