Amazon has a nice list at:
    http://www.amazon.com/Great-Fantasy-Books/lm/JVJX5XZD4EH6

Your own library may have a list or bookmark handy, so make sure to talk to a librarian or library assistant when you're there.

These library sites have several links that might be helpful:
    http://www.cslibrary.org/books/Look.htm#SF
    http://www.skokie.lib.il.us/s_read/rd_scifi/index.asp

    Hope this is useful!

    Lady Alathia of Vulcan

    Piers Anthony's Xanth series.

The first book (Called "A Spell for Chameleon") is about a guy named Bink, who lives in a land called Xanth. He just turned 21, and is going to be exiled because he doesn't have a magic talent. But lo and behold, he DOES have a talent, one stronger than nearly every other person in Xanth, but it is such that no one knows what it is. He starts on his quest to see the Good Magician, who may be able to tell him what his talent is...

These books are so full of irony and turnings-of-phrase... you'll laugh out loud the whole time.

HARRY POTTER; no doubt. Regardless of your age, creed, culture you will love any of the edition. J. K. Rowling makes you visualize the world through the magical eyes of children. And if you haven't seen the movies yet its all the better.

Robert Jordan has the "wheel of time" series. Its now 12 books long and not finished yet. Its a good series.
