Does getting a MINOR make a real difference? Is it beneficial? If I have a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice for instance?

Well, it can help down the road. I eventually went to Grad School for the subject that was my "minor." Having that on my records demonstrated interest and proficiency.

A minor in CJ would let you take many classes in CJ so that while practising Psychology you would benefit from having knowledge of law, or as a cop you would understand the psychological motivations of criminals but still know the laws cops obey.

It certainly can't hurt. Minors are interesting because it demonstrates to potential employers and graduate programs that you are sort of "specialized" in that field. So, even though you didn't major in the field, you still have a working knowledge of it. I minored in English. It has helped me tremendously in the job market.
