Help answer this question below.

Why is it so difficult to find a person in New York City who knows a lot about books, art, and other cultures? Do you think that people are very busy in New York?

    It's very easy. NYC probably has one of the highest numbers of such people in the world, too.

    I consider myself to be an expert in such issues and I'm from New York.

    Your question is assumptive to the point of stereotypical. And amazingly, your stereotype is completely the opposite of how most people see New Yorkers. Granted, I'm not a fan of generalizing anyone. Just because I live in New York, it doesn't mean that everyone honks at me. It doesn't mean that no one cracks a smile or strikes up a perfectly normal conversation about metro stops, the weather, or my dogs.

    As for culture, I can tell you firsthand that New York is one of the most culturally diverse places in the world. The level of art, fashion, music, and academia in this melting pot is so overwhelming that I am convinced it will take me months to fully grapple with all of it. Today, I biked to Coney Island to go the beach. I was among the throngs and throngs of people who got on their bikes and roller-blades and scooters to go the 16 mile roundtrip. New Yorkers are busy living, and the living is something else up here.
