  • I have a 2000 Buick Lasabre and I went to the hardware store and bought a 5 ft section of clear 5/8" and 3/4" hose and a plastic unions and hose clamps for each size hose. I then disconnected the heater core hoses from the engine block. Then I hooked the above hoses to the existing hoses as extentions so that I wouldn't get the engine compartment wet. I then used a garden hose and run water in one hose then the other until I didn't get anymore sediment out of the heater core. After I flushed the core I re-assembled everything and started the car up. Then I followed the top radiator hose back to the engine block and found the cover inlet to the thermostat. On top of the cover the is a bleeder valve. I opened the bleeder valve using a 7mm wrench and left it open until I got a solid stream of coolant to come out then I tightened the bleeder back up. After the engine cools take off the radiator cap and check the fluid level in the radiator and in the coolant reservoir on the passenger side fender. If this doesn't work then the core may have to be replaced.
