It may be an interesting change these days to see how many jurors make that claim - that the loss of ANY income will be a financial hardship.
The test under the law is that you have to show an undue hardship. That is - would serving on this jury for the length of time estimated by the court for the trial so substantially impact your income that you would be unable to put food on your table, pay for the necessities of life or meet your mortgage/rent.
Is there a limit to the number of times a person can serve on Jury Duty?
