A short story? (Does that count?)
I built it in my neverending quest to become a literary badass
Because I wanted to go up and down the stairs safely, so we needed a good rail and stiles. And to do that we needed to make new treads so it was all out of beautiful white pine which I sealed before we installed them so we could go upstairs easily lol!

Because the foundation HAD TO BE built to complete the rest of that home's addition!
Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

Well Chris, it was a small oak box to house my shaver and small hair trimmer, with slots for extra blades. I made it because I'd just made a frame and shelves for my medicine cabinet, along with a wall shelf. I couldn't see putting my grubby shaving gear on those nice looking oak med. cab. shelves, so I made the box to match the rest of it, and placed it on the wall shelf. The wall shelf is oak as well, with removable ceramic tiles for the shelf base; that way they can be changed with the decor. Now everything matches, and it looks just spiffy.
For the joy of making it, for the feeling of being creative and a craftsman, to save money and to do a better job than I could afford to pay for. I do most of my own stuff. My husband and I have practically rebuilt our little shack of a house into a real house. I make much of our clothing. I've made some of our furniture. I cook and bake from scratch. I can't afford to pay for the level of work I want done, so I do it myself.
Does a Halloween cake count?
If so, I built it for my daughters Fall Festival at her school.
Do you include food? I use my hands in cooking, of course. As far as building anything? I don't. Jim is in the midst of building shelves in the garage for his workshop. Does that count? I live with him, he builds things with his hands! Happy Monday! :) ((hugs))
