Can someone please tell me if it's legal for a released from prison non violent convicted felon to carry a muzzle loader for the purpose of deer hunting in Pennsylvania? Can you cite a law that covers this topic? Thank you.

Under federal law, yes. Muzzleloaders are not firearms. Laws differ from state to state. Some states do prohibit felons from using muzzleloaders others do not. I would suggest you call your states legal aid or public defenders office. Public defenders offices have a duty attorney to answer questions from the citizens of that state.

my friend, please talk to a lawyer or an officer, because the possible implications of anyone giving you the wrong advice (even with the best of intentions) would be enormous for you. If you like to hunt, go talk to a officer about your case, then (if possible) get all your papers and exercise common at full.

My ex is a convicted felon. He is not allowed to own a gun, carry a gun, have a gun in his home, etc. He is no longer allowed to go hunting because on the hunting lic. he has to state he was convicted of a crime. He cannot get a lic. issued to him because he is not allowed to carry a gun or any kind. But like the previous answer, ask a lawyer or judges office. Depends on the conviction.
