Help answer this question below.
My brother started going grey in his early 20,s,took after our father who also went grey quite young:-)
I was made to believe that such things happen to people who think too much....that's one of the old women's tales..PS...good answers from others above!!!
Some people get grey hairs faster than others. I am 24 and got my first grey hair last month.
Unfortunately its something you cant really control, unless you colour it.
Different for everybody. My buddy started getting grey hair at 20. Looks about forty now, eight years later.
It's probably genetic. It happens to some people earlier than others, I got my first at 17. Nothing you can do but turn to Clairol when/if it starts to bother you
Hair contains melanin, the same stuff that makes our skin's color fair or darker. It also helps determine whether a person will burn or tan in the sun. The dark or light color of someone's hair depends on how much melanin each hair contains.
As we get older, the pigment cells in our hair follicles gradually die. When there are fewer pigment cells in a hair follicle, that strand of hair will no longer contain as much melanin and will become a more transparent color - like gray, silver, or white - as it grows. As people continue to get older, fewer pigment cells will be around to produce melanin. Eventually, the hair will look completely gray.
Grey hair is usually hereditary, but if your parents didn't turn at an early age it could be because of some type of medicine (legal or non-legal)that you've taken or stress.
People can bald when they're teens. I had an aunt who always had a huge chunk of grey hair, since she was a teenager. I've had a couple grey hairs since 21.
Everyone's different. It could just be in your genes, i.e. heridtary, which means it'd be perfectly normal for you to have grey hair in your 30s. Even if it weren't genetic, it would still be normal
I know that lack of one of the vitamin B's and iron can result in premature greying. So eating vegies and drinking water is always good.
It could be due to stress
I read somewhere that smoking could contribute to greying/whitening of hair as well, and when one thinks of how unhealthy that is, it makes sense.
Try looking it up on wikipedia: type in 'Hair Colour' or google it for more information.
But it's probably just the natural way your body is.
So love it! :)
Hope that helps a bit :)
