yes and no. For all you know they could be a rapist seeking a opprotunity like that. Or they could be a friendly old lady shoppin and tryin to get her errands done. But just to be on the safe side, dont walk up to a random stranger, and if you do, no personel details
-
Some people could be put off by that. Like my husband. That would freak him out a bit. Not me though. I'm a people person.
-
Depend on the situation and location. I have the same issue, I love to talk to people. Now I'm happy enough to make friend in a laundry mat, or in a job fair.
-
I don't how others feel, but this would pretty much piss me off. I feel there is a time and a place to meet people, and if I'm out I'm either with those people already or trying to get something done. Either way, I'd feel you were imposing.
-
i think it's a good way to meet people, could be a future friend. you never know. just don't be put off if the person walks off or doesn't say anything. some people are very private and don't really talk to people that they don't know.
-
It is like AB...you might find some one who wants to talk and others you get nothing....
-
It's really all about the situation and context. If you're out at a bar or something, where the environment is more social and laid back, then it would definitely not be a bad idea to start up a conversation with someone. However if someone is out shopping or anything like that, where they are actually trying to "accomplish" something, it might be more of a disturbance than anything else.
-
Many times while shopping I will start up a conversation and some times it's lengthy between us and other times it short. I like meeting new people.
-
It depends on teh person you walk up to. If it's a bice old lady, then you could offer to help her with her groceries or something. If it's a baby sitter or a mom with their kids at the park or something, then you could start a conversatio nand maybe offer to help watch or something. I know how you feel. I love talking but my mom and boyfriend disapprove of talking to strangers but meh. =P
-
Nope as a matter of fact I do it all the time and I tell ya what, I have the best friends today! My best friend and I started as complete strangers in a Starbucks line! No kiddin!
-
I can talk to strangers real easy and treat them as if they were my best friends.
-
Go for it! I do it all the time, you just have to gauge their reaction and know when not to press. Sometimes you get the "omg, what a weirdo" look, but most times people are polite and quite a few will like to have a conversation. :)
