  • Am I assuming you are not doing too well? Colleges will look at your total overall GPA so if you happen to not do so well and you have a high GPA so far, it's not like it will be life and death decision. Most colleges (unless you are looking at Ivy League) will admit you without a second thought with a 2.0 overall. It's the college GPA that you really have to worry about
  • I would say they're pretty darn important depending on where you live. The universities around here don't look at your grades for any courses below the grade 12 ones. They look at your grade average from your top scoring 6 courses only. Therefore if you're taking 8 courses, they will take the 6 that you got the highest marks in and average them. Depending on what program or university you apply to, acceptance marks will vary. Look at the school or program-specific requirements.
  • In the US, most colleges look at all 4 years, but focus on 10th and 11th grades because of transferring to high school in 9th and then they only really see (maybe, depending on when you apply) your first semester grades senior year... Yes, they are important... they show the colleges that you're not slacking off during your last year...
