You have to formulate your own opinions of what is right and wrong. Most Christians belive that other Christians that arn't in their denomination still go to heaven so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

Pick a church that fits your basic theological beliefs and pick a church with a congregation that you enjoy being around.

My church is like one big family. I drive to church alone (I'm single) but I go to church with about 400 brothers and sisters.

    Personally, I believe EVERYONE'S right.

Since our brains are too feeble to grasp the totality of Truth, we accept whatever aspect of Truth our Consciousness comprehends. For most of us, we demonstrate this through accepting whatever religion or spiritual practice (a) we've been taught to believe or (b) whatever religion or spiritual practice that makes the most sense to us. This includes NOT believing in religion or spirituality at all.

One thing's certain, though. You can spend the rest of your life trying to decide what's "right".

Research several religions and/or spiritual practices within a DEFINED period of time. Once your research is done, decide what appeals to you most. What makes sense to YOU?

Finally, commit yourself to whatever religion/practice you accept.

    May the blessing be.

Your not going to hell just because you dont go to church. You would be right to at least believe in intelligent design (the observation that the world looks very much as if it were created by an intelligent being). Instead of believing the theory that living organisms were produced by the mindless processes of random mutation.

Only you can decide what to believe. This is something you must evaluate and decide for yourself. No one has the definitive answer on this, and that is why religion is still a topic of debate. (A definitive answer halts debate. For instance, we do not debate that 1+1=2.)

I don't go to church, but I certainly attend circle. I also do not believe in either Heaven or Hell (Hell is a Christian concept).

Well the first thing you have to ask yourself is which 'god' do you believe in. If it's the God of the Bible, you have to obey what the Bible says. If it's the God of the Koran, you have to obey that. Similarly with whatever system you personally trust. Since science doesn't even admit a god exists, they can't really be of any assistance. You don't ask a shoemaker to build a spacecraft. You say you believe in 'god'. Ask him to make the truth known to your spirit.

Personally, I believe that no religion is right, however, you shouldn't be asking other people, and just going along with that. Who do you believe? Well, certainly not the first person that tells you what you want, or think you need to hear.

Choose for yourself. Research and then make an informed choice, as opposed to making decisions about your faith based on what people you don't know on the internet tell you.

    Good luck with everything.

...trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

My suggestion is that you look in the Bible and study the teachings of Jesus. In the Bible, Christ said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." He will be the One who gets you into heaven, not a church or denomination. What you choose to believe is your decision, but I encourage you to read the Bible for yourself and study the Person of Jesus before listening to what certain religionists say about Him and the Bible. I hope this helps you in some way and answers your question. Thank you and God bless you!

I'm a Christian. But becoming a Christian isn't just saying, "yes please, I'll take that". It is a true faith that you give yourself over to. I'd say, immerse yourself in a few and you'll see which is right. God won't leave you hanging.

You were given the answer, and you rejected it. And with that attitude you will never know. And end up believing the wrong religion. When someone is speaking of God, you must go to your Bible and check it out to see if it is true. And to help you locate scriptures, you will need the Strong's Concordance. Sorry I was no help before. But in order to get to Heaven you must accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. The Bible says, "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. Its not who you believe, it what you believe. Because some Preachers lie, because of greed. Search the scriptures for answers. Now the right religion is taught straight from the Bible. You don't have to go to Church to go to Heaven. Because it would not be fare for sick people, who are bed ridden, and in the hospital, if Church is the only way to get to Heaven. God is a fair God, and He has no respect for person. Accepting Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven, and there is no other way. But the choice is yours. Where are you planning on spending Eternity. Accept Jesus and go to Heaven, or refuse Him and go to Hell. The choice is yours to make, and if you don't make the choice, it will be made for you. Whoever you listen to, always follow up by searching the scriptures, to be on the safe side.

You believe the Holy Bible. All you need to know is recorded in there. Church is just a building where Christian join together to worship. The only prayer God will answer of a sinner, is a sinner wanting to be saved, and that's the only prayer He will answer, because He don't answer sinners prayers, when they are praying for help, money etc.... He is not obligated to answer that prayer, because you are not his child, you are one of his creatures, that is created in His image. Satan the Devil is your god. And he wants to keep you confused about the knowledge of God so that you won't be saved.

The only people who are 'right'about religion are the ones who worship based on what the BIBLE SAYS..and the bible says a lot of things that are not too 'popular' with organized religion!!! such as not celebrating easter, or christmas, etc...not eating shellfish, lobster, clams, crabs, etc......and so on...
It's all right there, in the good book, but we humans just go on picking and choosing what we want to see/hear/do, and so, are not really 'christians' by any stretch of the imagination!!!!!
.....I hate to preach, but an organization called "Tomorrow's World' is the only one I"ve been able to find that just tells what's in the bible, and nothing else!!!!! they NEVER ask for money (of course you can give if you want) and they have a bible study course that has been taken by millions of people over the years...
I myself do not go to church - was raised catholic - and despise the whole setup with that sect....much of what they believe is not even in the bible, just what they thought people should do.

.....using a rosary, for example; where are 'repetitive prayers' talked about in the bible?

Oh, I could go on and on but will not make your eyes roll in your head!!!

Just believe in what you want to believe....from what I understand, God's a pretty understanding deity!!!

  • There is a lot of questions there. answer to first sentence. That's easy, ME. I'm right. Just listen to me. Second sentence. First half, you will not go to hell because you don't go to church, but you may lose out on focusing regularly on God by forgetting about your faith for maybe weeks or months at at time. Church can keep some people focused on their religious life. Second half of that sentence, I guess I answered it already, it won't make you go to hell though. Finally, just listen to me and you will be okay. I'm kidding. Follow your HEART. Try and not judge others and be good and do good. Keep it simple. God always blesses.

I haven't been to church in about 7 years myself. I believe in God and Jesus and live by my church's teachings so I feel that I am no better or worse than someone who goes to church every week. You need to research all religions and pray to find the one you feel is right. Take a book of mormon from a missionary and read it, talk to Jahovas whitnesses and talk to catholics and baptists and so on. Reasearch and pray about it is all you can do.

I believe if anyone believes in God, they are automatically on the wrong track. Big G little g, god/God...it makes no matter. If you look at Christianity, Jesus's father has a name, and it isnt GOD! we have too much research in front of us these days to even think that the word God is the name of the devine. Jehovah and Yahweh seem to be fairly stable names. Jehovah goes with Jesus, and Yahweh goes with Yeshua. the spellings may differ. the buddhist beliefs has a lot of good things going for it to be a faily good religion to be a part of. it incorporates meditation and yoga for health. (this question is nearly two years old.)

First, you're going to have to choose which god or gods to believe in. There are millions. Then you're going to have to decide what sect to become a member of. When you have accomplished that, you will then need to read their religious texts to find out what it says on the matter of attending church or not. Then you will need to find an authority figure within that religion and sect to tell you if the verse that relates to church attendance is to be taken literally or figuratively. Some texts will need to be read in their original language. The Muslims, for example, claim that the true meaning of the Koran will only be revealed to a follower of Islam and only when their holy book is read in its original language. (it loses something in translation I guess) You are better off learning about religion and then leaving all those archaic belief systems behind.

  • Well, the problem is which god. And which heaven. And which hell. Some of them, you're screwed if you don't believe them. Others, you're fine.

Believe in yourself. Anyone who's going to attempt to convince you that they're right by threatening you with punishment clearly has no concept of righteousness and is not to be trusted.

I am an Atheist so I don't believe .. BUT you do NOT need organised religion or a church to have faith and if you believe in God ( any God ) you have as much chance to go to heaven as anyone else... personal faith is the true path to happiness

    1) This is really one of the things that you will have to find out for yourself. Follow your intuition.

    2) "What's RIGHT for one person, is not always right for another. Whatever suits you, is the right one for you."

"If you [feel] comfortable with your religion then it's the right one,it comes from deep within your heart your soul. You don't need to ask anyones opinion."

"I don't think any one religion is the right religion..I spent too many years trying to find the right religion..I finally realized that I was not getting anywhere by trying to follow mans [interpretation] of God and his Son and how to spend eternity with them. I had to let go of everything I knew and everything I had been taught, and started over with just me and the spirit within me guiding, teaching and showing me...What a journey it has been to get to the point I am today in an up close and personal relationship with Him, His Son and the Spirit within me..The peace I have, my unquestioning faith and my love and acceptance of people with different religions has shown me that finally my religion is right for me, and God is pleased"

"Although I ended up converting to the Catholic Church, I remember reading that C.S. Lewis joined the Anglican Church because it was the closest to his house.
Perhaps I'd be a reformed pentecostal messianic Jew, if that had been close to my house."

    3) "When one is presented with a religious belief they need to study it for themselves and then ask God if it is true. If you do this with a sincere heart you will get an answer and you will know for yourself. You can't take someone elses answer on this, you need to find out for yourself and you only can do this by really studying it out in your own mind and asking God to let you know. When he does, you will know, but you probably won't be able to explain to others how you know."

"I think people in general tend to confuse doctrine of a certain religion with people that try to follow that particular religion, therefore you will find that the doctrine of a religious group may be perfect per [se] but the way the people is following it it's far from the ideal and is because we are human beings, we commit mistakes and religions are not the exception of this rule."

"I attended several different types of churches in my search for religion. I have found out that many do condem other aspects of religion, different from their own in their teachings. I disagree with this. Are they maybe getting this from the ten commandments? Could be, but I do not believe their is a right and a wrong religion. I think if you want to find the right religion, do some research in all aspects of different religion generas. If you find one that fits your lifestyle, values and morals, one that you can identify with then maybe thats the one you should believe in."
    Source and further information:
    http://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index.php?showtopic=7216&hl=

    4) "Most people don't "find" or discover their religion - it finds them. Most of us are born into a culture or atmosphere where religious beliefs are handed down to us; we have a borrowed faith and not necessarily a discovered faith. So this is a great question to explore."

    [Discussion:]
"It is logically impossible for any religion to claim that it is "correct." The vast majority of religious claims are subjective. Therefore, intelligent and sincere people can take opposing views on the issues and not create logical fallacies by disagreeing. Certainly, the claim made by the pastor that any religion makes claims that are "scientifically" correct is deeply flawed. Therefore, one adopts a particular religion by faith (which does not require any proof.) The moment relgious doctrines attempt to take on legitimacy by predicting what should be correct in nature, they fail horribly."

    http://www.newsobserver.com/2922/story/1329393.html

    5) "The link between spirituality and happiness is pretty well-established for teens and adults. More spirituality brings more happiness. Now a study has reached into the younger set, finding the same link in "tweens" and in kids in middle childhood.

Specifically, the study shows that children who feel that their lives have meaning and value and who develop deep, quality relationships — both measures of spirituality, the researchers claim — are happier.
Personal aspects of spirituality (meaning and value in one's own life) and communal aspects (quality and depth of inter-personal relationships) were both strong predictors of children's happiness, said study leader Mark Holder from the University of British Columbia in Canada and his colleagues Ben Coleman and Judi Wallace.

However, religious practices were found to have little effect on children's happiness, Holder said.

Religion is just one institutionalized venue for the practice of or experience of spirituality, and some people say they are spiritual but are less enthusiastic about the concept of God."

    Gone!

Church doesn't save you... but faith and belief in Jesus Christ as your savior is where your salvation will come from.

It's good to fellowship with other Christians, but God is looking at your heart.

    Blessings.
