  • it is a type of ray from the sun
  • As far as I know it is caused by a loss of water in the body. A baby's weight is roughly 70% composed of water, hence a baby has lovely soft skin, and as we age this percentage falls to as low as 50%, and so the skin cannot stay as supple and hence wrinkles.
  • Only a guess answer here. maybe its gravity pulling on wasted muscles in the human body. it happens to everyone at about the same age, especially people that do not exercise and are dormant.
  • i think we actually don't produce as much collagen and elastin in our skin
  • As we age our cells continue to divide, and some damage is experienced every time the division happens. The damage can be from chemicals, harmful radiation or illness for example. Our cells are like factories, and when damaged they get worse at making the chemicals we need, like elastins, fat and proteins which keep the skin cells firm and give the skin its youthful look.
  • As we age our bodies cell division capabilities slow down so we do not produce the same elastin and collagen that we did when we were younger, this is what causes the skin to lose firmness and tone and for wrinkles to develop, sun damage can cause this process to happen prematurely.
