That box may be your evap container. If your seeing fuel leaking from there you may have a problem with your venting system on the car. Make sure your not over filling your tank cause the fuel that flows up the filler neck can sometimes flood the vent lines and bleed back into your evap system.

You're reading I have a gas leak on a 1992 volkswaggon jetta gl and there is a gas leak by the fuel pump its not coming from the line it has a little black box buy the fuel pump i dont know were the leak is coming from it travels to the blackbox and drip
