Question

Help answer this question below.

I'm 33 y/o. I had an MRI yesterday was advised by my Dr this morning that they found a 5mm cyst on one of my ovaries. How concerned should I be? Could it be related to a tubal ligation that I had 10 years ago? How is it commonly treated?

Ovarian cysts are extremely common. Many women have them resolve without even knowing they had them. Unless you are experiencing pain, abnormal bleeding or any other symptoms, I wouldnt worry about. Most are benign and disappear on their own. If your Dr sees theres something to worry about , s/he will order a biopsy to check for abnormal growth inside it.
