sand it down my friend, sand it down. if the writing is not indented too deep, use a fine grit sand paper, if it is, use a more coarse grit. it all depends on how much effort you want to put into it... you can sand the whole section and then repaint or restain the section, or just spot sand and try to blend in the paint or stain to match the original color. have fun!
