I think there needs to be a balance of both, I think most of us come on here for fun and don't really need advice unless its a question involving someones homework. Maybe they should have a chatting area on here that dosn't involve the questions.

No, it's true. Serious and lighthearted questions are necessary in today's world. I know I use it for both, but that doesn't mean that everyone here appreciates that aspect of it. I have answered both types of questions and do not look down on people who use it that way-why should I? I have no reason to berate someone for any question they ask, it's their choice to ask as they choose, otherwise we wouldn't have so many different sections on this site. It's the people who choose to make a big deal out of it that hae the problem. Therein, if they really wanted to do all the work and put the time in to research the answers for their questions they would not need to use a site such as this. Either way, with the diversity that is here it's a good thing. This way we get more than one opinion or belief.

I think that there are already catagories that cover the fun stuff as well as the informative stuff, and that the balance is good. It just seems that maybe the ability to down-grade should be removed as it is being used as a tool to try to shape the website, when the website should be allowed to grow into whatever the users are happy with, not what a minority want.

The only question that is wrong is the one "you did not ask". No question is wrong at all, they all have been generated in a mind, thus needs to be answered too, some for fun, some for some serious issues.

IT IS ESSENTIAL. The trick is to know when a good laugh will be appreciated. JK.....or :)----helps to spell it out for those who aren't as atuned to humor as you are. My theory is that the most intelligent people have the best sense of humor (subtle, droll, even dry). The exception is those concrete thinkers who take everything at face value and have no time for foolishness. To them I say: pooh on you!

No. It is a variety, and after all, this is meant to be fun too. Why must everything be one or the other. For God sake, we need diversity in our questions! A good balance between the two is perfect.

No, its thought provoking to have many categories and many different things to answer and think about because the world is full of the good and the bad and here anyone gets a choice to discuss a subject or leave it alone.

I don't think so that is what attracted me AB. There is a balance and sometimes when things get too serious I can just go to another category. Nothing in life is worth having if there is not a balance to it.

No, I think it makes things more interesting. I think the blance is great and much improved since the old AB days. However, I could do without the popularity polls. Like, who is the best AB this? Who is the hottest AB that? It gets old and the answers to almost all of those types of questions are the same. Makes me want to get out my tiara and practice my parade wave (gag).

No not at all. The mix is nice. Kinda like baseball. First you see a fastball, then you get a changeup. Keep them coming.
