  • Interesting hypothetical. Unfortunately, I have a difficulty relating because my premise is that God is a God of truth who encourages exploration and discovery. I believe in the Bible, but I have never seen anything there to contradict any science I have learned. So, it is hard to relate. If I thought God told me the earth was flat and I found out that it was not, I would have to revisit my understanding of how God told me that and if that was really what God was saying.
  • Interesting Hypothetical. The Bible actually recorded that the earth was round, a couple of thousand years before science confirmed it. There were some WAY ignorant Church Leaders who took the expression 'four corner of the earth' as an indication that the earth was flat and square, but apparently they forgot to read the whole thing. If God 'told' me ANYTHING, (like in a voice), I'd seek medical attention, as this can be an indication of mental disease. God doesn't communicate that way anymore. He communicates through his word the Bible.
  • Couldnt happen - God doesnt lie.
  • God never told me that the earth was flat. Why would He do that?
  • This reminds me of a parent saying "If your friends all jumped off the cliff, would you???" Just another reason for people to think on their own, and stop looking for easy answers to the mystery of life.
  • Why don't you ask them directly? http://www.alaska.net/~clund/e_djublonskopf/Flatearthsociety.htm Or if I may quote: 1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.” Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...” Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...” Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.” Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...” http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/febible.htm
