Depends, candidate for what? If it's for a position of great responsibility -NEVERRRRR ~ Cheating is one of the worst mistakes a person can make. It destroys families and breaks up marriages. Why would I vote someone into responsibility that doesn't take it relationships seriously?
-
it depends, everyone makes mistakes in life and all candidates have made mistakes. If she/he are able to admit the mistake and sincerely repent it wouldn't influence my choice.

sure... if the moment they found out they kicked them to the curb... oops, I misread it. possibly depending on the actions after the affair, faithfulness is vital but there is no more powerful influence than sexdrive... denying myself the opportunity has on 2 separate occasions made be physicaly ill almost as bad as the flu (but a much shorter durration.)people make mistakes.

Well, at least it shows they are willing to try out a new course of action. ;p

Yes. It would not influence my vote. I would not vote for McCain, but that has nothing his history of infidelity. I voted for Clinton, and that had nothing to do with his history of infidelity either.
-
if i like what they stand for how they do there job has nothing to do with there personal life

No. If you can't even keep the vows you make to your spouse, how am I supposed to believe that you'll keep the vows you make to your office?
-
I would base my vote on their capacity to lead. Too often its nasty politics that bring up issues not relevant to their capacity to lead. Who am I to judge someone else's personal issues.
