  • Many native American tribes viewed land and possesions as communal. Everything that was mine was yours. So everything that was 'owned' belonged to the tribe, not to anybody specific. Euopeans, on the other hand, would stake claim to every bit of land and carried much the same ideas still prevalent in the modern world: what's mine is mine, and it defines who I am. Besides the imfamous struggle for land, many innocent native Americans would be killed for wandering into homes of settlers and taking things, as they did not understand the concept of personal property.
  • Generally, Europeans believed in taking vast tracts of land and filling them in with water. You can see examples of this in places like the great lakes. The Native Americans did not like water, because they knew it could be dangerous if you fell in too deep and this caused a lot of problems. Also, all the native americans wanted to do was build corn mazes(maze was the original word for corn, actually) and wander around in them but the europeans were all business
