  • Britain should make its mind up one way or the other. We have danced around the outskirts of the EU for so long now, scared to go our own way but also scared to plunge into the middle of European politics. As a result we are getting the worst of both worlds. The Eastern Bloc countries actually have far more to offer than we wish to admit, which is why the jobs under threat are not just manual labour ones. Dental and medical staff are better trained and more willing to do the job they are employed to do - and our populace is nothing but greedy (see how house prices rise as our own people buy two, three or even four houses that they will never use themself). Yes, charity begins at home, but we shouldn't rely on charity. We need to get this country back on track, and that requires decent education for our children. Start there and the rest will follow. As for unemployment - you sound like a luddite or Tolpuddle martyr. Technology loses jobs.
  • Sounds like you have already found your answer doesn’t it? So there is no need for me to respond, but hey, sometimes you just gotta vent :)
  • Some might say that the EU is our home. It has created peace in Western Europe and Economic prosperity. We need the East Europeans in order for the EU to grow big ennough for us to stand as equals in a future world of multiple Superpowers. We should say no to xenophobia and welcome not only the East Europeans but also Turkey into the EU. Britain, like other European countries is not big enough to stand alone.
  • No bad idea if Britain would leave. I think Great Britain as a super power should stay for its own.
  • Britain is simply NOT Europe. They (you) are their own people and should not cede their sovereignty to the EU's perpetual law writing class.
  • I think that Britain is now the piss poor country. If they left the EU they would be crawling back on their kness after a yeat to join again. The US won't be in a position to help.
