  • For me, it generally means that I was having asthma/allergy problems in my sleep. Most likely my tongue was swelling and my breathing was restricted. I was clenching my jaw with the effort to breathe.
  • That's a burst of reality for you! When we're asleep a chemical is realised in our body to paralise us. If it didn't get released we'd act out our dreams. Sometimes - this chemical wears off in the night - the results in: 1. Sleep walking 2. Talking in sleep 3. That "falling feeling" when we're falling asleep 4. Grinding your teeth You're aware of the teeth thing so you keep distressing yourself, causing yourself to start to wake / chemical wear off - and that's how you wake up. I do exactly the same with the falling feeling... dream i'm walking up a street watching my feet then my foot is in the air and I wake up, feeling like i just dropped from floating above my bed - spooky feeling :D
  • thats funny... fabulous answer chris.... it makes perfect sense because I used to sleepwalk a LOT when I was younger, and I just recently stopped. but then these dreams started coming, not so often anymore but once every month or two I would estimate. Sorry I don't have comments so I have to make myself be heard this way!!!
  • I had three dreams like that tonight. I have been under a lot of stress lately, so I don't know if that has something to with that. It is pretty scary... In my dreams I can't open my jaw, feels like my teeth are going to break off and my mind is awake but body won't budge. I had to see if this was anything serious ... idk haven't found a def answer yet.
