NO NO NO. we have enough boring events now . It could not by its very nature have people watching except on TV and who would want to sit in front of a TV for over 24 hours. to have cameras covering each swimmer it would cost a fortune and make no ticket receipts at all.

Sure, why not? It would be more challenging than just swimming in a pool and Olympians are supposed to be ready to challenge themselves.
