Some don't know how to tell the truth..I would name names but not right now. A good rule of thumb..when you hear someone telling a lie that you know to be a lie, don't believe a dam* thing he/she says, ever. If you hear a politician telling provable truth, then chances are he/she is less likely to try to get a few by ya! Doggone it, ya know, by golly! :)

When they say something like this: "I'm not a crook and I didn't have sex with that woman."

watch their body language versus their actual words. if they both match, it's called congruency. you want congruency to be believable and it's EXTREMELY hard to fake congruency if you're saying something dishonest because body language is so much something you do subconsciously. think about someone crossing their arms in front of their chest and looking anywhere but in your eyes and saying, "no i'm completely comfortable." that isn't congruent and doesn't make you want to believe them. but someone who can look you in the eye, smile, keep their stance open and facing you, etc. and say the same words is much more congruent and, therefore, believable.

Ah - when they don't do what they say they would do - after the fact. To tell before given the chance to follow through is mostly a subjective biased beief.
