If a 16 year old got pregnant by a 19 year old but the parents didnt care could the 19 year old still get in trouble?

If the family is ok with this, there should be no trouble. They might want to have a court order that the man pay maternity expenses and child support, but other than that, it could work out. The only time there would be a problem is if he refuses to meet his obligations, and the police get involved.

The answer is yes, regardless of what the parents think. In most states, a 16 yr. old is considered a minor, and the 19 yr. old can have numerous felony counts filed against him for this.

The 19 year old gets to be called a rapist for the rest of his life. I'm pretty sure it's illegal in most states no matter who cares.

The age of concent only applies when both parties are minors. Once one partner is no longer a minor then the sexual relationship becomes illegal. If the 16 year old's parents don't care they should be prosecuted. While the state is at it, they should prosecute the 19 year old also.

Most jurisdictions permit a 16 year old to consent to sex with a 19 year old, so if you live in such a jurisdiction the answer is no. If you live in a jurisdiction in which a 16 year old cannot consent to sex, then the 19 year old should get in trouble. It does not matter what your parents think. If your parents are okay with your boyfriend selling drugs, should that mean he should not be prosecuted for the crime? Of course not. This is no different.

i had the same EXACT question. i just got pregnant by my 19 yr. old boyfriend and i thought he could get in trouble because he was over the age of 18 but where i live the concentual age is 16 and my father told me unless a legal guardian pressed charges then the 19 yr would not get in any trouble. im not completely sure if its true but im assuming thats how it would be, im going to follow up with someone that knows more about this stuff and then i can answer again with a more knoledgable answer.
