  • I am assuming that you paid for a service, and to this point have not receive goods / services in return? If so, no you cannot place a lien on the business. What you might consider, depending on the amount, is file a claim in small claims court. this process is easily done, does not take long, and if you document yourself properly, you will be awarded your money back. Be sure to bring actual documents, contracts, ect. because if you do not do so, even if you are right, the courts cannot prevail in your favor. The amount the small claims court entertains is approx 5K, but varies from state to state. If you paid for services not renedered beyond this amount, seek legal counsel, and also report incident to better business bureau. good luck to you
