Honestly, all signs point to worse. But what is worse? The world always repairs itself...even if it will take billions of years to do so. No era has lasted forever...we have to accept that sooner or later we will have to step aside and let our mother nature do her 'thing'.

In the sense of technology, we have gone a long way indeed. We truely are the first knowen being to have access to things like robotics, electricity and lazers. I just recently learnt the US army has a 'force-field' around some of their tanks...that's pretty cool even if it was designed to aid war.

    I'm just a big pessamist...but prove me wrong. ;P

I am going to say that the world is, without a doubt, getting better. I say this not so much out of opinion but out of facts. The population has had a major boom all over the world. Though disease is running rampart all though third world countries, this is always been happen but the population has still never gone up like it has now. Vaccines are being created, penicillin is being used, and thats only the start. Wars are quicker and more humane than in history. Less civilian deaths, less chance of dying from infection of a wound. We have technology that can do almost everything, or will do everything in the future. History may seem like a nostalgic place that we all want to back to because it was better back then but that is just a way of keeping your head in the sand. We must look ahead to fix problems and make the future even better than it has been envisioned by others.

Technology has made many huge changes for the better in our world. However, technology has given the world many options for total destruction. A computer literate world has made so many things in our lives easier and faster but when computer systems go down or get viruses it shows us how completely reliant and vulnerable we are to technology. It is a horrifying thought to think that with the pressing of one button a nuclear attack could start that could destroy our world almost instantaneously. We are so worried about progress and bringing urbanization to every remote place that we have been short sited about our environment. Our trees that give us much needed oxygen, our plants, that once gone, can no longer provide medical breakthroughs, our ozone layer which we have damaged to such a point that we are losing species due to global warming. We are so much better off in so many ways. We can make artificial hearts, transplant one heart into another body to save a dying person, we can make a car or airplane at record speed, we can make a call to any place in the world in a matter of seconds with a phone less than the size of our palm. We can carry our entire computer on a cell phone pda and have an MP3 player attached to it. But how good is all this technological progress if we don't have a world with trees and grass and animals and clean water and food to eat? We are destroying our environment at a horrifying pace. We need to worry about our environment and use technology to try to help us repair all the damage we have done to our planet earth. We need to use technology RESPONSIBLY--that's the only solution if we want to continue to live and prosper in what we know as EARTH.

Well, technologically the world is rapidly gain momentum. As for the environment...things don't look so good. I fear for the quality of our Earth for our future generations...the oceans, the landscape, the air...all of it is going to be tainted with with the mark of our destructive past present and future.

The bible says it will get worse in the last days (2 timothy 3:1-4) (sorry my english) but then gods new kingdom will come on earth after the evil ones is removed (revelations 21:4). So what is the the solution until then? Be good to other people (matthew 7:12), and pray to god to ask for understanding (psalm 1:1-3). I know that a lot of you will say that I must be out of my mind, because the bible is a old book, etc. But have you really read it? and have you looked for a solution in it (matthew 13:45,46). No? Is it because it is easy'er to follow the mainstream opionion about God's word? greetings from Christian Denmark vidnet.dk@gmail.com
