Question

Help answer this question below.

Would you fly with that airline if they charged passengers by their weight? (Ex: $1 per lb in Economy class, $2.50 per lb in Business class, $5 per lb in 1st class, depending on the flight?)

    Lessee...

    $115 for me
    $240 for hubby
    $15 for Ian...

    $370 for three tickets.

Where are we going? This might just be worth it. ^_^

no. I think they charge too much anyway and now they are charging extra for luggage and every little thing. Due to health conditions, I can't lose weight and so that's punishing me and a lot of others for health reasons.

I think this would be the fairest way to charge people, and, yes, I would be happy to fly with such an airline.

In almost every other situation, people have to pay for what they consume (e.g. gas, electricity), so why should this be any different?

I'd fly in economy or business on short flights, but if I was traveling to someplace like Nauru or Luxembourg, then I'd definitely fly 1st class. I might as well enojy some luxury :-)

Maybe, but if they added surcharges based on height, I'd be screwed.

    It won't happen I don't believe.

On longer flights, it could be a great bargain.

On short commuter flights it could be a bust.

If that is the case, the time weighing passengers, infants, physically challenged, etc would be horrendous and what would stop a person from buying two seats or three for that matter (one for themselves and 2 for "infants" and then not board the infants)---that way the person could have 3 seats for the price of 1.2 or so...

I think that classification system would be unfair for some and airlines are always out to get there money! i don't see them making a flight to London and a flight to Miami the same price..

but if that were so...then maybe

No I'd walk to where ever I wanted to go, and I might be able to afford to fly back.
