Can anyone suggest a good soundcard to use for home recordings, need it to be around £50?

I'd go for a USB soundcard like the Tascam US-122 or US-122L, you can pick up a B stock one for around 80 pounds. You may be able to get something as good cheaper but I've only used the 122 so I can't reccomend anything else. I wouldn't get a PCI soundcard (one that is installed in the computer) as it will often pick up electrical interference from other components, giving your recordings a background hum or white noise.
