What can be used to loosen paint around a window that haven't been in use for a while?

    There are many good products to use removing paint. Probably the most effective I have used is called Goof Off, and you can get it at any hardware store. The problem with goof off is that it smells like an oil refinery. Home depot has a remover called Mootsenbacher's Lift off, which works all most as well without the toxic chemicals. It smells like windex without ammonia, not too bad. Of course you could always use a heat gun, and scraper.
