  • I think that eternal commitment scares everyone. It is a huge step signifying true love. It is also somewhat of a gamble. The ones that survive marriage are the ones that should be applauded.
  • I'm not scared of marriage per-se. The institution itself does not frighten me, nor does commitment to that institution. The OTHER PERSON in the marriage is the part that causes me trepidation.
  • I wasn't scared until I saw my future mother-in-law. My wife was worth it at the time but now I am starting to reconsider.
  • I am actually more afraid of becoming unmarried due to an illness or accident. It's taken 20 years to build up such a great relationship with my best friend. Wouldn't want to have to start from square one with someone else. I was engaged in February of 1985 and got married in May of 1986, I had plenty of time to get cold feet and back out, but the idea never entered my mind.
