If you don't have guardianship over him then he is an adult. Morally you have an obligation if you know that he can not survive on his own. There are a lot of programs for self support from government waivers if he qualifies, that way he will be safe and off the street and you will have less stress of caring for him.

Why can't he live at home for much longer? You had him, now look after him until he can look after himself.

When you say other medical conditions, you may need to specify what they are to get a answer worth while.

Also need to know if the ADHD is extreme or simply part of his life and he can cope okay with it.

I was a 17 year old high school drop out and was never diagnosed with it (not that they did that 20 years ago). However, as an adult I looked at many resources and ADD (not ADHD) completely explained the problems I had in school as a child.

Now, I am a Naval Officer, have a A.A. and B.S. degree and have been married for 15 years and raised 3 wonderful children as well.

My point is, if your son does have ADHD, depending on the severity, it can also be a hell of an advantage for him. One thing that is of note is the ability to hyper focus. This can be an strong advantage in the Information Technology job field and many other areas that Hyper Focusing can be used.

I have been in the IT field for 20+ years and my ADD has been very helpful in my progress in my career.

Manufacturing. They have good jobs every where that you sit in a chair and do repetitive tasks. In Denver if you can't get a real job you get a mc'job at Coors. It keeps the lights on.
