I've been getting calls at my job from a 062 area code. I didn't think area codes could start with zero. Where are these calls coming from?

I've recieved 2 calls from an 062 area code here lately....i did some research on the computer and here's what i've found...just thought i would pass this info along.... Area code 062 is invalid. This was done intentionally so you can't file a complaint at donotcall.gov , because the government website requires a valid area code to file a complaint. THIS IS A CREDIT CARD/CAR WARRANTY SCAMMER. THEY ARE SEEKING CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AND OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION THEY CAN USE TO SCAM YOU and this OK, just in case no one figured it out, they are most likely calling from India. The area code is valid, but is reported to "South Central Asia" (see link below). I was dumb enough to pick up the phone (I confused 062 with 602- a local area code here) and was greeted by a recording saying something about lowering my interest rates on my account. I hung up naturally, since most financial institutions that call me state WHO THEY ARE almost right away, even in their recording. http://unstats.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49cha... Country code for Indonesia is 0062 or +62, however 062 for area code is unknown.

Google the number on your caller ID. If you are on the do not call registry I'd file a complaint even if it is international.

I have been getting them too. When I googled the area code it comes up Phillipines or Korea. The only time I answered it the person began to yeall at me in an asian language. I hung up and they called back. Since then they call at least once or twice a week. I don't answer.
