I'm assuming, in my answer that your referring to how to cut the border into the toe kick area, so that it contours to corners and such.

I use a method, as I'm sure most construction professionals do, called scribing. All you do is lay the piece of material that you plan to use in place where it will be installed. Then, you take a straight edge ( I use an old combination square without the foot on it) lay it against the cabinet, and with a pencil, mark the other edge on the wood your cutting.Once you have your "scribe" you cut the scribe marks, with a jigsaw, bandsaw, etc., and then measure for length and cut it. Install and enjoy!

For curved scribes, I use a large, kindergarten type, pencil ( my daughter says I'm a pencil thief). I take my drill and bit and drill a hole about a half in to an inch from the outside edge of a small wood block,(1 1/2" x 1 1/2") just large enough for the pencil to slide into snuggly and place the edge of the wood scribe against the cabinet, column, etc., trace the contour and repeat the cutting process above.
