ceramic even after it is glazed has pores inside it that can absord the energy of a microwave, safe probably, recommended, not by me. If the container in the microwave heats up before the liquid, the container is absording the energy and may not be considered 'microwave safe'

Many ceramic items have a label underneath which reads 'microwave, oven and freezer safe', but not all. Many glazes heat up in microwave, some ceramic formulations also absorb microwave energy also if there is a crack which has allowed water to get into it, it's probably not wise to microwave it
