  • ceramic even after it is glazed has pores inside it that can absord the energy of a microwave, safe probably, recommended, not by me. If the container in the microwave heats up before the liquid, the container is absording the energy and may not be considered 'microwave safe'
  • Many ceramic items have a label underneath which reads 'microwave, oven and freezer safe', but not all. Many glazes heat up in microwave, some ceramic formulations also absorb microwave energy also if there is a crack which has allowed water to get into it, it's probably not wise to microwave it
