You don't have to worry about fatal asphyxiation if you're sucking from a helium balloon at a party. At worst you'll keep going until you get lightheaded and pass out—at which point you'll stop inhaling helium and your body's oxygen levels will return to normal. Of more concern is the possibility that you'll hurt yourself when you fall down. (The boy in New Jersey bumped his head and needed three stitches.) radiator fluid. red or green. its sweet and mixes well with a glass of wine. or one can drink water and eventually drown. one's lungs start to fill with water.

I promise you that anything that you can ingest that will kill you will not kill you painlessly. You will die slowly and in much pain. I have tried almost everything. mixing chemicals/breathing them in, CO poisoning, OD's mixed with alcohol, slicing wrist, cutting throat, trust me I have tried EVERYTHING and all of it is painful and I am still alive. No... There's nothing. If you manage NOT to die, EVERYTHING will cause major pain, anguish, and probably physical problems for the rest of your life. I will repeat my answer from http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2799153 (slightly modified) There's NO good reason to end your own life, unless you are already dying, and near the end in the first place. And even then, it's EXTREMELY questionable... I've known people the doctors said would be dead in a few years, and they're STILL going strong at over 70. 1) Got a problem with boy-/girl-friend, or lack thereof? SOME people believe that you are lucky, because boy-/girl-friends CAN cause you a lot of heart-ache. But there are a lot of guys/girls out there looking for all types of girls. And almost ANY age is still young these days. 2) Problems finding a job? I am too. Been that way since early 2003. I DO have SS Disability, but it JUST covers the house and utilities. If I wasn't married, I'd have lost the house long ago. Except for a recovery period (knee problem), I have been looking. It can be discouraging, but I have NEVER once thought of ending it all. There's just too much I WANT to do, too much I NEED to do, too much I want to see, and too many people in my family that would be devastated. 3) Think you don't have family or friends? You DO have them, if you look around. AB is full of people who have tried to commit suicide, those whose family members have tried and/or succeeded, those who don't want to see ANYONE suicide, etc. These are people who care about you, whether they're on your friends list or not. Whether you believe it or not, if you were to end it today, literally HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of people would be hurt, some devastatingly so. Some of those people you know. Former co-workers, people you went to school with, people you see regularly (church, groups you belong to, etc.), etc. Some of those people are family (No matter how bad a relationship you have with family members, when they find out what you did, they will be hurt - that they couldn't tell you they cared, that you didn't feel you could come to them, that they'd done something to keep you away, etc.). Some people you've never met (ANY of the above's relatives and good friends - When the above hurt, THEY hurt). And, SOME people you simply haven't met, yet (They will NEVER know the fun side of you... the happy side... the loving side... and even the bitchy side.) You DO have friends... You just may not recognize them as such. There are those here, those people you see all the time, your ex-coworkers, etc. Don't take anything that's happened to you so far as a sign it's to end your life... It's a sign it's time for a change. If you don't have a job now... Get a different job. No friends? With no people "baggage", you should be relatively free to move... to a different town, city, or state (or country, for that matter). Maybe you can find a job that will help with relocation. If you still feel the need (nothing anyone has said has helped), call a local crisis center or the National Suicide or Crisis Hotline Toll-Free / 24 hours / 7 days a week at 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) or 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) or TTY: 1-800-799-4TTY (4889) (see http://suicidehotlines.com/national.html ). MOST of them are trained to help you through tough times. And keep the thought of suicide just that... a thought. Calm down. My answer was in response to nighline's answer suggesting helium. It clearly states that a very painful, and probably not too quick death can result. It is obviously not encouraging a suicide attempt.
