  • You may need to replace the TPS (throttle position sensor). Be sure to purchase it from the dodge dealer. Aftermarket products like these have known issues. Its possible for a vacuum leak to cause the p0505 code too. The intake plenum should be checked. Also, check the wiring on the ASD circuit. One more thing, check the spark plugs for the proper gap.   • Hello, I'm the guy that wrote about the p0505 code with check engine light,"99 dodge ram van 1500" turns out after weeks of trouble shooting it was the power control module,"pcm" I found one, put it on,and the check engine light went out and is still out after 2000 miles and with a new inspection:) I hope this helps anyone with this problem. Ed.
