  • No not really they aren't. Rose hairs are beautiful animals, but have been known to have an attitude at times. (When misting ones cage I accidentally sprayed her and she shot her hairs into my hand.) Making sure they have an adequate substrate and heating source is mandatory for a happy spider. And making sure she has plenty of crickets to eat. A wetted sponge in a shallow bowl is all she needs for drinking. They aren't usually climbers, however using small leafy bendable reptile decorations gives them a chance to spread their legs. I hope this helps.
  • Ya the best ones if you ask me are the Chaco Golden Knees they are a great species and rarely show any aggression. You can get them at www.KenTheBugGuy.com
  • Rose hair tarantulas (Grammastola rosea) is almost as easy to care for as a pet rock. It will need a home (critter keepers work well) that is several times it's legspan across and no more than 1.5 times it's legspan high, DRY substrate(no bark chips! bed a beast or peat moss is excellent), a water dish (no sponge), some kind of hide (those mini flower pots are excellent) and a cricket once a week. Keep in mind that they come from one of the driest places in the world and HATE wet substrate, or getting wet. The only water should be in the dish. Females can live upwards of 18 years.
