Well, since I asked for the opinions and/or theories of others, and have yet to get a single one, I will toss my theory out there for those who may see it later, or even now, as you read it, O precious few, that you are. (smiles)
I did a bit of thinking, and this is how I explained it to myself, and I think it is at least a decent theory. When Sora hit himself with that dark keyblade, turning himself into a heartless and creating his nobody, Roxas, he also created another being when he fell asleep courtesy of the snare laid by Namine in Castle Oblivion.
Here's the logic about the heartless, nobodies, and chasers, or at least here is my logic. A kingdom hearts individual, possibly only keyblade bearers, which does include Riku and Kairi, is a "somebody". When he or she becomes/creates/releases his or her heartless, a nobody is formed to counterbalance the heartless, for two halves make a whole person.
However, once one half reverts back from heartless, as Sora did, courtesy of Kairi in the lobby of Hollow Bastion, and that same half begins to slumber, another "somebody" is born, hence the title of the psp game, "Birth by Sleep".
Just for reading this far, I will give you a bit more info that is at least plausible. I know a bit of the psp game, and there are three characters that mirror Sora, Kairi, and Riku, and they are, in respect to the parallel, Ven, Aqua, and Terra, the last of which Sora can fight in the Japan only game, Kingdom Hearts 2 plus, provided the game is maxed out.
The parallel with the names is this. Sora's name is linked to the air, hence the scrambling of the word "Soar", while Kairi is linked to water and Riku to earth, much like how Goofy is also earth and donald water, hence the color of his clothes.
Ultimately, I believe Sora is responsible for at least two members of Organization 13, one of which turned on the organization and the other was wiped out, I believe in the coup expounded upon in chain of memories.
This second as yet unamed nobody, I believe, is Vexen, for, in my theory, Sora created "Ven" when he slept, for he ceased to be a somebody, hence the creation of another somebody somewhere else. Ven joined Xehanort and at least inadvertently created his heartless and possibly unbeknownst to even him, his nobody, Vexen.
BONUS. Xehanort created Master Xehanort when he created his heartless whom he called "Ansem" as well as his nobody, the final boss of KH2, Xemnas. I believe that chasers are the dark and most powerful forms of the kingdom hearts characters, as evidenced by the wicked sweet trailer that showcased the aforementioned trio battling Master Xehanort alongside as yet unamed stooge. Thanks for reading!
