  • Women of color are beautiful and unique in their fashion sense. Wear it with respect for your boss and his expectations of you, (as you probably do have a code of conduct that you agreed to upon being hired) but put your own personal twist on it and be yourself respectfully. Best way to know, would be to ask your human resources person directly. "How do I look?" or "Is this acceptable to your expectations of my appearence?"
  • The only thing I would be worried about is appropriateness for your office. Your boss is highly likely to request (with good reason) that you save the shiney glittery stuff for the club; not the office. It would be like wearing a tube top and flip flops to work. While true, you're not naked, it's just really not appropriate dress for the office. The same can go for make up as well. Especially in a high profile office such as the Social Security Administration. Yes, your co-workers will probably look down on you IF the tone of your skin is in such huge contrast of your eyeshadow that it makes you look like a prostitute. I'm not sure that as a woman, you would want to give off that impression to begin with. (At least I would hope not!) Just try it and take a look at yourself in the mirror. Ask your friends how they would feel if they walked into a high-profile office with someone with the same make up. What would be their first impression? I know you're more worried about getting fired than what people think, but I would hope you'd have enough respect for yourself not to allow yourself to give off a less than desired impression on other people if this maybe isn't the best look for you! :-) Good luck! EDIT: I'd also like to add that this might be a beautiful color scheme on you if you can find these colors without the glittery shimmer. The last thing you want to do is become "Mimi" off of the Drew Carey show. While her make up was extremely exaggerated, I know her character represented that one girl that we've all worked with who didn't know that her make up REALLY wasn't the look she should have gone for! LOL!
  • well if i had more room i would have explained that i have no inention of going up as high as she does with her eyeshadow ill just apply the purple to the crease and the blue on the LOWER lid
