Almost immediately. I loathe clutter.

I am a horrible pack rat, but one of my new year's resolutions was to try to be disciplined about recycling last month's magazine as soon as I get the new one.

I can keep them for a long time, especially annual magazines

It depends on their value. Some magazines are of very limited or short-term usefulness. Magazines about celebrities, entertainment or pop culture rate a quick glance through and then get donated somewhere or recycled. Some, such as home improvement, practical health or natural living, such as Organic Gardening, Mother Earth News or Home Handyman, are worth keeping and referring to. To save space, i often clip the articles i want and then recycle the 'chaff' and advertising. Two magazines especially, The Watchtower and Awake, i keep for years because their insight into the meaning of life and practical help in better living are of timeless value. I have some issues that are 40 years old and are still very useful.

Entirely depends on the magazine. Since most I spend money on are sort of unique, I keep them indefinitely and they have a spot with my comic books on my bookshelf.

Some I keep for years, some I give away the day I'm done reading it...depends on what articles or why I want to save it. :)
