Nintendo, originally called Nintendo Kopai, began in, believe it or not, 1889. Back then they produced Hanafuda cards, of Japanese origin and used for playing a number of different games, though it wasn't until 1975 that they adopted the electronics, beginning with The Odyssey to which they had distribution rights, and they released several home computers with like, one game in it, but the famous 8 bit Nintendo made its appearance in 1983.
