The best thing you can do is to keep speaking out against war and intolerance. In fact, I would say this is a requirement for considering yourself to be an adult. Anything less represents not understanding your true relationship with life.
Can it be done? Certainly you can keep taking a stand and speaking out.
Is it too difficult? It's not too difficult to do your part.
Will it make peace and tolerance become the universal norm? Probably not.
There's a difference between COMMITMENT and ATTACHMENT. To continue standing up for what's right year after year requires commitment. What gets us discouraged is attachment. One has to get that it doesn't matter if you ever change the world: that's irrelevant to whether or not you should keep speaking out.
To be committed and act on that commitment, without being attached to the outcome -- that's the definition of being a true citizen of the world. When you can do that, it's a joy and an honor to just keep going regardless of the result.
The intention of this reality is not peace, but division and competition.
Where will we be without the nicest people in this world, mothers?
