If you divorce your spouse, and then report their misconduct to their employer which results in spouse losing job, what are the legal consequences to the whistleblower? In Texas.

    It depends on the truthfulness of the allegation. If you can prove what you say is true, then there is no consequences. If not, the spouse is entitled to his damages from your whistle blowing if he decides to sue you for defamation.

    Are the allegations objectively true and verifiable? Does the alleged misconduct have anything to do with job performance? If so, the whistle blower should be ok.

    but if she has some friends as unprincipled as her ex spouse the law may be the least of your worries
