In the movie Demolition Man; What are the 3 sea shells for?

    They are the futuristic equivalent of toilet paper.

    They did not explain how it works in the movie, but somehow those three seashells perform as a substitute for the bathroom functions of toilet paper.

    There is, however, a lot of speculation on how they work. Just do a google search for "How do the three seashells work?" or something similar.

    They were a replacement for toilet paper, so they for cleaning your anus after defecating. The movie never DID say how they worked though.
