  • I haven't heard the song but I agree with the title
  • I think everyone has some preconceived notion about other races (stereotypes if you will). I think what makes people racist though is acting on these thoughts. People tend to be scared of stereotypes, but there is some truth to almost all of them. Instead of being scared of pointing out the differences in the races, each should take pride in them. So, as long as you're not discriminating in any way toward someone for their race, I don't consider you a racist. Now to answer your next Avenue Q question. Yes, the internet is for porn...and AnswerBag. That was a great show, saw it in Vegas.

  • I wouldn't say everyone is a bit racist, i would say the majority of people are. You cnnot state categorically everyone is.

  • I am not familiar with the song from 'Avenue Q' nor have I ever heard of Avenue Q - probably makes me a racist. People who use the word 'rascist' are in fact usually the greatest bigots. Luckily I go through most of my days without thinking about my own or anyone elses 'race'. Apparently some people can't go five minutes without bringing race into everything. I believe it is this type of person who propagates racial divisions.
  • A little bit? Sure . . . but not in a way that is designed to cause harm to others. For example, many people have clear preference for a certain "look" when choosing a dating/marriage partner. I find myself attracted primarily to "white" and asian gals along with an occasional Latin American gal (they really were from Latin America). I am rarely attracted to "African Americans", including those who are negroid and never actually lived in Africa . . . . Do I think of myself as racist? Of course not, and certainly no harm is directed at races that I find less romantically attrative. Some guys like blondes, Some deride redheads (which means they dislike Irish decent folks). Are those guys racist? Technically, yes. But that's not what most think of. I also know people that REFUSE to date people of thier own race -- so they too are racist? LOL Dispite all our attempts at social engineering and PC endoctrination, we each tend to gravitate towards our "own type." A great example of this is in high school, when one of your friends starts doing drugs, he/she suddenly starts hanging with other drug users. Let a new highway project go through a black neighborhood, and listen to people scream about forcing blacks to move away from their "own" community and integrate with the other races living in the area. Run the same highway through a predominately white neighborhood, the folks take the buy-out cash and move somewhere else (I didn't say they liked it, but you never hear them yelling about the racial aspect of it). We all know about the "whites-only" country clubs -- are all the members racist? Surely not, yet they still have a preference for a club where people look like them. Or, examine the fraternities on most college campuses . . . they too tend to divided between the "traditionally" white and "traditionally" black, with both groups having sizable numbers wanting to join each year and very few showing an interest in crossing the color barrier. If you have ever traveled into Appalachia (and you didn't grow up there), you will find that they don't have too great an interest in anyone that isn't "from there" -- even if you are just as pasty white as they are. I say most people are just people, and don't act in such a manner as to cause harm, even unintentionally, to others because of race. I also say those same people tend to naturally gravitate towards others like themselves, just because it is "comfortable."
  • Hells f*cking yeah!
  • Of course I do as they say "Everyones a Little bit racist sometimes....."
  • Some people more than others.
