uhhh one sec I can't think of what it was but there was a supreme court decision that decided that slavery decided by the states was unconstitutional.
Explanation for this? It was like saying if you took your horse from Mississippi to the north with you when you moved, it would suddenly become free when you went in the north. NO IT WOULDN'T it was still your property!!
