Are businesses discriminate towards shorter people? I'm 5ft and because of my height I feel like people sometimes dont think as highly of me or think I'm capable of performing tasks because of my height.

    People discriminate against everything.

You could be too short, too young, too old, have the wrong hair-cut... you name it.

If you have big ears,(to hold onto), a flat head,(to set my beer on), then your shortness would be a very excellent attribute for what I'm looking for!!!!!!

I am not much taller than that (about 5'1.5") and I have not ever felt discriminated against because of my height.

I have had many jobs mainly in a bank where i worked for nearly 20 yrs.I remember having to have my work photo done and this is going back before digital cameras lol.The machine was rolled around and it wouldnt lower to below 5'0.I had to get a foot stool and stand on it so she could take my picture.Good juob it was only taken every couple of years.I remember my work friends laughing and making jokes afterwards. Then about 10 yrs later the camera machine was made smaller and easier to lower. It is only in certain jobs where you could be in a disadvantage obviously police fire brigade.I think nowadays companies arent that worried about size.I mean taller people do not have a better brain than shorter people this has been proved.I used to have to have other staff members because they couldnt work out their work to do.Now some of these were were tall guys over 6'0 asking me for help.Even my manager had to ask so i feel that anything you want to accomplish you can do.They do have community police now anyway which doesnt have height requirements.
Being 5'0 as you are is lucky and i feel that they should lower the average height has then shorter people may find clothes buying easier.I dont wear high heels so even on a good day i am never 5'0.I always wanted to be just as tll has my sisters and brothers but it wasnt to be.

Height shouldnt stop someone from doing a job. Alright maybe height can be a disadvantage like being a policeman and being short. You may not be a match for a thug who is over 6'0 and built like a house. If you put your mind to it you can do anything just dont be put off by these people who feel diffently towards you.
