Knowing that you first pulled the release and that failed to disengage the brake then the other model is activated by pushing on the pedal even more and that disengages it. If either of those measures fails, check the mechanism above the pedal, put your foot under the peddle and try and pull it up. If those measures fail, the cable may be hung somewhere along it's length to the rear brakes somewhere.
