I am a single parent who does not allow her children to socialize outside of school. Birthday parties at someone's house are out of the question not to mention slumber parties. I don't go out and am always with my kids, is this bad for them? Childhood is supposed to be a fun time as well as a time to discover new things. It is like an adventure. I would definately allow my children to develop their personalities and charecture. You don't want to stunt their growth. Also, you need to get out there yourself. Too much of anything is not good.
